vaan’s anger is not a petty joke. it is important not to forget the occuria were literally pondering between ashe and vaan in terms of who to use in their agenda… which is why, again, he also saw ‘rasler’ in the tomb of raithwall. even then his anger was still tempting to the occuria. it rivaled ashe’s, until after jahara, where he could not see rasler at the stilshrine of miriam during his second appearance. there’s a lot of hate in this little heart that learns to fade once he accepts the truth from basch, learns relief that his brother was not part of the betrayal, and finds purpose in helping ashe alongside penelo and two supercool sky pirates.

Oh I didn’t remember that Vaan was a potential candidate =o During those last years I would try a new game again and again without playing very far (maybe until Lushu’s mine?) I don’t remember most of the game. Thanks for clearing that out !

so i was talking with jay about vaanmaj (what else is new) when i dug my own graves with feels about how vaan is actually probably like, an extremely good caretaker. like the best bedside nurse…because of all the endless, endless hours spent at reks’ bedside, his brother hollow and empty, but vaan would still fill the room with color, with the warmth of his voice ; he’d talk for hours. when he ran out of his own stories he’d read reks stuff from books. reks never said anything but vaan knew he could hear his voice. so he never stopped talking until his mouth ran so dry his voice was hoarse. vaan is a caretaker at heart.

which, ofc adds more into my whitemage!vaan hc. but like, imagine tomaj being so overworked and getting sick because he’s working 60 hour weeks as a teenager running a bar under imperial rule; the sandsea has never been worse off. (dalmascans are losing their jobs + homes, the tavern is losing money, the only way he can scrape together more gil is to serve the shit the imperial customers and archadian tourists want while also posting as many hunt bills as he can find to take commission from) naturally, he works himself sick, but still feels like he can’t not be downstairs at the bar working. but vaan refuses to let him downstairs and nurses him back to health. especially when tomaj’s illness has to get worse before it gets better. he can barely swallow broth. but vaan does everything he needs done; he runs errands, makes deliveries, runs up and down those stairs from the bar to tomaj’s flat 80 times a day to relay messages and news bc tomaj is so obsessed with the tavern. but mostly vaan sits at his bedside and talks with him, even though he really doesn’t have to, tomaj finally understands after the third day that vaan is so happy to be sitting by someone’s sickbed who he can actually talk to–who he can actually make better.  vaan is loyal and stubborn and so good-hearted and he never leaves tomaj’s side unless it’s something tomaj needs done.

Guys what do I do ?????

I was planning to get the ps4 around June or July maybe, so I could FINALLY play TZA. But now it will come on Steam…. I can play on Steam….

The thing is, I don’t want the ps4 only for TZA, my second motivation is KH3… But I was hoping for an announcement in the middle of the year, to be CERTAIN KH3 will be on ps4. (It should, but you never know, the ps5 might be around the corner lol).

I don’t know what to do anymore ;_; Steam or not Steam. Is there a big gap of graphic quality between ps4 and computer ? (I have an Acer aspire7 i5 something)

If Steam, I want the special 1st week offer of course, so I couldn’t wait for a late KH3 announcement

a thing that always makes me sad re: vaan is that throughout their journey, i feel like every new place our sheltered desert orphans discover, vaan thinks to himself “reks would love it here” or “i wish reks could see this too”

this ofc goes for penelo, too, who lost her brothers as well. idk i just need our orphan babs just having a moment together mid or late game where they kinda go off on their own for a few hours to be together, because the grief still comes in waves, and they are both the only people who would understand – vaan and penelo both knew and loved the ones the other lost. 

penelo gets really shafted in the game in terms of character spotlight, but i know she is hurting just as badly as vaan is. she lost all her brothers too. so i’m sure there are moments where it just consumes her and the only person that she feels would understand is vaan. dalmascan orphan solidarity thanks

MORE WRETched balvaan orphan girl headcanons:

  • penelo teaches her to read!!!! vaan is so thrilled he wants 2 cry
  • when vaan’s out of town she lives at the orphanage with the others
  • orphanage headcanon: it’s a small orphanage. after queen ashe establishes her rule and dalmasca’s economy skyrockets, more people are better-suited to start families and thus orphans are adopted instead of cast to lowtown. and in that light it is well funded; proper beds, three square meals, some schooling.
  • when vaan is in town she lives with him cuz he snatches her away for cuddles and to tell her cool sky pirate stories; he has a small flat above migelo’s that he bought recently and paid off all debts with the bangaa despite migelo trying to say nonono you don’t have to pay me, but vaan did anyway
  • vaan ends up spending more and more time in town with her and less and less time in the air; his airship sits in the hangar longer than usual, hmmm, odd
  • balthier on the other hand continues to balthier around with fran. pats orphan girl on the head when he sees her. brings her a smol trinket or gift. …eventually brings her more gifts
  • balthier headcanon #39438952 as far as he knows the only way to bond with children is to give them material goods. he is an archadian by blood what do you expect. affection? stories? playtime? what are those. here is a toy. go play now. (he does his best. kind of.)
  • i want to weave balthier kitten headcanon into this, where balthier is docked in balfonheim for some time – quite far away from vaan, and quite torn and conflicted with this whole orphan girl business that’s making even more of a mess of this whole being-in-love-how-inconvenient-to-begin-with business; stray balfonheim cat worms its way into his ship and Does Not Leave. he decides, after some time, to keep it. 
  • ‘maybe orphan girl would like kitten…’ balthier thinks
  • ‘maybe vaan would like it if i brought her a kitten’ balthier thinks harder
  • ‘balthier. i want to keep the kitten’ fran says
  • they obviously keep the kitten because fran wants the kitten. duh. fuck anyone else but fran
