I have several questions about the Trial mode (is that the english name ?)

I tried it out just out of curiosity. Is it normal to go to the next level without any rewards ? (I’ve read there should be rewards). Is it the Steam version ? Lol

Also, can I use items w/o losing them in my main save ?

Do we keep the xp if we die ? Do we just go back to the main title to stop ?
