Things people forget about Fleur Delacour
- She is 7 years younger than Bill
- She worked for Gringotts
- She fought alongside the Order in the final battle
- She loved Bill unconditionally
- She did not blame Harry in any way for the war and the things she went through during it
- She risked her life alongside everyone else when she Polyjuiced herself into Harry
- She received medals of honor from the French and British ministries of magic for the part she played in the war
- She cared about Harry as a person, unlike most people he met
- She never forgot that Harry saved her sister during the Second Task, and she was forever grateful
- She is completely and utterly perfect in every way
The first Christmas Eve after The Battle of Hogwarts.
- Mrs. Weasley getting carried away while decorating because it’s such a welcome distraction from thinking about the loss after the war.
- Andromeda coming to the Burrow with a baby Teddy for the first time, and he’s never seen this many people with ginger hair and that’s how his hair turns Weasley for the next 12 weeks.
- George bringing Angelina with him because he doesn’t think he’ll be able to get through the day without Fred or Angelina, and Fred’s very unavailable, being six feet under.
- Ginny hiding out on the roof, because she can’t go downstairs with Fred not there to perform dumb practical jokes and make her laugh, and she just misses him so much and it hurts so bad.
- Harry coming to find her and the two of them spending hours just sitting on the roof while Ginny tells stories about her big brother and Harry listens with his elbows propping him up against the roof.
- Mrs. Weasley setting the table for an extra person who never comes and nobodies really sure, but she maybe set a spot for Fred and couldn’t bring herself to take away the plate.
- Ron and Hermione holding hands underneath the table the entire dinner while everyone pretends not to notice.
- Harry dragging Ginny downstairs in time for desert, and she runs to George the minute she sees him and holds him like he might disappear too.
- Nobody wanting to leave, because it might have been a sad Christmas but they were all there and the fear of loss is in them all.
- Fleur and Bill announcing their expecting a baby, because for all her faults, Fleur knows when Molly needs to hear good news, and even if its bittersweet, she wants her to know.
- Molly crying for a half hour on Fleurs shoulder, because Grandchildren.
- Somebody getting out photo albums, and it hurts seeing Fred everywhere but they need to hurt for a little while.
- Ginny coming alive again and telling stories about her brother and George having even more, and Molly crying while she tells stories they were all too little to remember but have heard a million times before.
- The older brothers staying up with Angelina and Fleur in the living room, talking about whats next and remembering what happened last.
- Harry sleeping in the same spot on the floor in Ron’s room he always used to, even though they have their own flat in the city now, for old times sake, and Hermione rolling her eyes and hauling a tired, sad, Ginny up the stairs and into bed.
- Molly falling asleep happy for the first time in a longtime because her kids are home and safe.
HOGWARTS SCHEDULE MASTERPOST because I haven’t done one of these yet (and because nerinelunacyran asked for one)!
First row is pretty explanatory (Years 1 and 2, look at the captions.) Third year on each take up a row, because they need two schedules to deal with the electives. The only way for the electives to make sense is for ‘elective’ to just be a slot in their timetable, and because each house shares a timeslot with another house, and both have two options, during every timeslot there are four elective options (so Monday period 3 of year 4, both Gryffindors and Slytherins can choose between Care of Magical Creatures, Arithmancy, Divination, or Ancient Runes). This way, a student from any house can take any combination of two electives. It’s complicated, but it works.
Hermione Granger is special and kind of fucked up.This fits in with canon as much as I was able to make it fit with canon; she did not give this a second of thought, and it’s painfully obvious if you actually look into it. Fifth year Gryffindors have a class that starts halfway through second period, for crying out loud that’s what periods are for. So there’s some artistic license that I’ve had to take, and of course filling in all the blanks was entirely just myself. I tried to keep the fictional students in mind and not give them awful schedules, too — I have spreadsheets for each house for each year, as well, to see what the kids would groan about in September. I gave the first-years four periods instead of five, because 3:30 is explicitly stated for their flying lessons, and during one Oliver Wood is still in class.
As far as how the teachers’ schedules work out or how Years 6 and 7 work or how this makes any sense at all: it really doesn’t, but I’m working with what I’ve got 😛
This was created for the Pottermorphs AU, but feel free to use these schedules for whatever you want — I’d love a link back to this post, though, since I hope it’s obvious just how much work went into these.
#I’M STILL BITTER THAT THIS HASN’T GOTTEN MORE ATTENTION YOU SHOULD ALL REBLOG THIS
lemme just say, i would be too, because this is phenomenal. so organized. I wish I had had this in my RP, A+

“Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a British wizarding boarding school teaching the magical arts. Children with magical abilities may be enrolled at birth, and acceptance is confirmed by owl post at age eleven.”
the unattainable goal of Hermione Granger
So, first, some perspective. I was asked to post this during a group discussion in which I brought it up. We were discussing character integrity and how it is the one thing Jo asked the filmmakers to maintain when she signed it over to them before and after chamber of secrets, and my sides opinion was that they didn’t do that with a multitude of characters. And I mentioned this podcast and how Melissa hit the main problem with Hermione. So here it is, I’m sure it’s online somewhere else but I couldn’t find a transcript so I had to do it myself Dx It’s kinda long so half of it, and the source, is under the cut. Have fun discussing!
“Okay, okay, I’m going to tell you what Hermione sees in Ron. A trio is a balancing act, right? They’re equalizers of each other. Harry’s like the action, Hermione’s the brains, Ron’s the heart. Hermione has been assassinated in these movies, and I mean that genuinely; by giving her every single positive character trait that Ron has, they have assassinated her character in the movies. She’s been harmed by being made to be less human, because everything good Ron has, she’s been given. So, for instance:
- “If you want to kill Harry, you’re going to have to kill me too” -Ron; leg is broken, he’s in pain, gets up and stands in front of Harry and says this. Who gets that line in the movie? Hermione.
- “Fear of a name increases the fear of the thing itself.” Hermione doesn’t say Voldemort’s name until well into the books. that’s Dumbledore’s line. When does Hermione say it in the movies? Beginning of Movie 2.
- When the Devil’s Snare is curling itself around everybody, Hermione panics, and Ron is the one who keeps his head and says “Are you a witch or not?” In the movie, everybody else panics and Hermione keeps her head and does the biggest, brightest flare of sunlight spell there ever was.
So, Hermione—all her flaws were shaved away in the films. And that sounds like you’re making a kick-ass, amazing character, and what you’re doing is dehumanizing her. And it pisses me off, it really does. In the books, they balance each other out, because where Hermione gets frazzled and maybe her rationality overtakes some of her instinct, Ron has that to back it up; Ron has a kind of emotional grounding that can keep Hermione’s hyper-rationalness in check.
I’d love more info about Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. I want to read about students from both schools in a relationship.
