It seems Koyama asked fans not to write reports on the internet ! The group doesn’t want the concert to be spoiled ^^

graphicabyss:

Obviously. Since they don’t want the people who go to find out the details beforehand. I write for people like me, who’ve never been to a concert and more likely never will go. I also put it under a cut, people who don’t want spoilers can avoid it. Besides, I didn’t even post setlist or costume details, mostly just bits of MCs and fanservice. I often really do wonder though “why do I even bother?”

Oh sorry this wasn’t a criticism at all !! You seemed a bit suprised by the lack of japanese reports, I wanted to give what may be an explanation of this lack ! I appreciate that you take time to translate some parts of reports as I can’t read Japanese very well myself. I do think that as an international fan, we can easily choose not to read reports if we don’t want to, so I’m grateful for translators like you =)

Of course the most memorable part of NEWS na Futari was the part with foreigners and the following experiment.

First, this Russia Mihail guy complained that when Japanese people meet foreigners, they talk to them in English which frankly didn’t make any sense because it’s not like they can talk Russian anyway. Shige said that if he met Mihail on the street he would likely talk to him in English and asked if he knew English. The guy replied “Well, I do understand it but…” Russians seriously need to chill.

Other foreigners had valid complains ie people talk to them as if they didn’t understand or expected a certain stereotypical behavior from them such as expecting an African American person to be a good runner or Mongolian person to live in a yurt.

Then there was the awfully embarrassing part where Shige went to a cafe with many foreigners and tried to find Russian people with the 3 very random characteristics given (not smiling in front of unfamiliar people, having roundish face and having gaudy fashion). When these vague hints didn’t help they gave him Matreshka dolls and made him do a stereotypical Russian dance which frankly was kind of offensive in itself. Amazingly enough, he actually did manage to find a Russian girl. I’m not even sure I would. Good job, sensei! He said “zdravstvuyte” aww~

I haven’t seen the show yet so idk about this Russian guy, but if he can decently talk in Japanese, he certainly meant that Japanese people talk to him/foreigners living in Japan in English instead of Japanese (and not his native langage). Some foreigners living in Japan can be upset because Japanese people tend to assume you don’t know how to speak Japanese.

Okay, the PV’s

pretty good. Almost TVXQ level good. Of course, not in terms of song quality or vocals or choreography, just the overall imagery. I just wish they dropped the Caucasian sniper chick.

I’m not a fan of the sniper thing either ! I guess it’s a “humour touch” but I would have liked a NEWS!spy story instead (idk I see them as spies lol)

Yeah, it really reminds me of the TVXQ’s “The Secret Code” concept. For their tour they filmed a short film and used it as an opening during the concert. I expected something of the sort for Mr. White but it was nothing like it.

A short film would make sense for a DVD single ! I guess the concept wasn’t new enough after Mr White. I’m looking forward the 40ish-min MO but for a 5min PV I think they might have missed an opportunity here with a longer PV tbh. I wish the PV would only be the tip of the iceberg with a real story and background, like K8 did with 8uppers xD
