Oooh, an aromantic survey?

commanderaro:

Yes, my dear aromantic friends, a survey!

This survey asks about being aromantic and experiences associated with that. All people on the aromantic spectrum are welcome to come and answer some questions. I’m interested in how the aromantic community varies, since there isn’t really a lot of information out there about us.

If you are not aro, I’m sorry, I know surveys are fun! But please, could you do me a big favor and spread this survey to any of your aro friends? It would help gather more responses.

I plan on posting the results after the survey closes. As of now, the survey will remain open until the end of November. I am open to suggestions on how long it should remain open, if you disagree with that time period.

Here it is: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Si0AjXFEeq1kSJNk6a917Wdr91EeE3CN-rO1rCnIoNM/viewform

I ask that you please refrain from answering more than once as to not skew the data. Also, if you find any problems with the survery, please bring them to my attention. This is my first time making a survey, so I could probably use some feed back. 🙂

girls-youvegotanotherone:

There are aromantics who used to think that everyone else was pretending to have crushes, that people are making it up. There are aromantics who still can’t quite believe that other people really feel romantic attraction.

There are aromantics who accept that they don’t feel romantic attraction, while others do, and that it just is that way.

There are aromantics who have felt attracted to people and thought at the time that was romantic attraction, but in hindsight it wasn’t, or they’re not really sure.

There are aromantics who have felt romantic attraction before, but don’t now.

There are aromantics who desperately want to feel romantic attraction, who want to be happy like everyone else. There are aromantics who feel broken, no matter what.

There are aromantics who are indifferent to what everyone feels as romantic attraction. There are aromantics who resent how ever-present romance is in our lives, there are some who cringe at it, some who hate every aspect and thought of it.

Aromantic means not experiencing romantic attraction. It can affect your life and experiences in different ways and to different extents.

Remember! Tomorrow (8th May) is Ace Visibility Day!

avenpt:

  • Ace of Hearts: Alloromantic Asexual – experiences romantic attraction regularly toward one or more genders. This includes orientations such as heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic, polyromantic, and panromantic.
  • Ace of Spades: Aromantic Asexual – does not experience romantic attraction toward any gender.
  • Ace of Diamonds: Demiromantic/Demisexual & Grey-aromantic/Grey-Asexual– Experiences romantic and/or sexual attraction only if a strong emotional bond is established. OR Experiences romantic/sexual attraction rarely, not strongly enough to act on, only under specific circumstances, or fluctuates between periods of experiencing attraction and not experiencing it.
  • Ace of Clubs: Questioning/Unsure of Orientation – Aware they fall on the aromantic and/or asexual spectrum, but not sure where.
