“Budokan” 2018

Good evening!
Shinken Ranbu Sai in Budokan
Thank you for coming!!

Standing at the Budokan for three years in a row
how difficult it is
It’s not to be taken for granted
I was standing there feeling like that every time.

And next year towards the Olympics
the improvement work will begin
to see the precious sacred place
stepping firmly

“On a stone for three years” (1)

Little by little,
known as “Touken Ranbu”
more and more people will be interested
moving forward to a big dream.

Ahead of us
Tokyo Olympics
to a bigger stage
to be connected

Beyond borders
beyond time and space
beyond language barriers and culture

I wish a new history to be engraved
and cherish every moment
and above all
I appreciate the support of all of you
those special memories will be engraved in my heart
as Ishikirimaru
as Sakiyama Tsubasa
I pray.

“As Ishikirimaru for three years”

There is still a long way
I’m going to continue working hard.

Next is Miyagi, Sendai.
I’m counting on you.

(1) 石の上にも三年 is a Japanese proverb which means you have to sit on a stone for three years until it gets warm, that is, to be patient because perseverance will win in the end.
