Look how scared he looks. He doesn’t know what to do, what to say.

The same thing happens when Hiro meets Go-Go. He’s again moving back towards Tadashi. Not exactly hiding behind him (cause he’s 14 and way too old now to do something like that), but I can bet my money he did that a lot when they were younger.

So even now, whenever he meets someone he doesn’t know, or feels a little uncomfortable in their presence, his instinct is to move close to Tadashi

Also, to add to that, look in the first gif, how Tadashi’s eyes move toward Hiro as Hiro moves closer to Tadashi.

Hiro is a precious little muffin I swear. He acts all tough and mighty but he’s just a sweet little boy that gets scared so easily. Tadashi is like a security blanket to him I literally can’t handle this adorableness.
